Drinks Around Milwaukee

DSC_0199 7

Living in Milwaukee, fondly referred to as “Brew City,” there is never a shortage of places to go to enjoy a night out with friends. There are plenty of bars/breweries/pubs/etc. that you can go and enjoy a cold one, or even some spirits if beer isn’t your vice. Here are a few of my favorite spots to grab a drink with friends.

Camp Bar (any location)
If you’re looking for a casual hang out with friends, Camp Bar is always a fun spot. As you walk in, you are transported to the northern woods where you can enjoy free popcorn and furry friends (yes dogs are allowed inside)! Brian and usually end up going to the Third Ward location to watch games since they also have a lot of big TVs.

Lost Valley Cider Co.
If beer is not your drink, stop by Lost Valley Cider for a flight of delicious cider. They have a vast selection of ciders, from dry to fruity and even spicy. Build your own flight to try out multiple flavors! Their menu changes often, so there are always great new ciders to try, and the atmosphere is perfect for relaxing with friends. You can also purchase your favorite cider to take home with you!

Great Lakes Distillery
Even though I live in Miller’s hometown, I have never been much of a beer person. If you’re anything like me, Great Lakes Distillery is the place to go. They serve delicious specialty cocktails and you can even tour their distillery. It’s a fun, inexpensive tour, and they are very generous with the tasting at the end!

The Outsider
With great views of the city, this rooftop bar is open year round! (Don’t worry, it’s protected from wind and has heaters in the winter.) Great appetizers, desserts and a wide selection of specialty cocktails. The perfect spot for a night out with your girlfriends or even to top off a fun date night.

Sail Loft
I love going to Sail Loft because they have a great patio and outdoor bar (the atmosphere is great inside, too). Settled right on the river, it’s great for people watching and waving at the party boats floating by. They have a wide selection of drinks, but also great seafood (I recommend the crab cake burger).

The Yard at Iron Horse Hotel
If you are looking to go out on a perfect summer evening, The Yard is a great place to enjoy a cocktail or beer outside. They have a ton of tables and lounge areas for relax with family and friends underneath a canopy of string lights. It’s a fairly popular stop, so I would stake out your territory early!
